Before reading this article, I already had prior knowledge about global warming and the little things we the people could do to be more kind to our enviorment by limiting polution. This article is most likely intended to readers who are interested in the envorment and are for taking any precausion in making sure its safe. When I thought about globalwarming and How I could help, the first things that came to mind were recycling and park clean ups. But this article took being eco-friendly to a whole nother level and for me redefined what it means to do so. A major American utility is shelving the nation’s most prominent effort to capture carbon dioxide which stemed from coal-burning power plant and dealing a severe blow to efforts to rein in emissions responsible for global warming. This $668 million project would involve plans to build a full-scale carbon-capture plant at Mountaineer in order to sucssefully capture and burn cabon dioxide. Advanced Tecnology is a new and efficent way to keeping the envorment clean. But is it worth risking $668 million that could have probably gone toward another very important issue our world is facing? The author was defiately sucessful in challanging my inital idea of what you can do to help the enviorment by incoperating a use of tecnology in achieveing that goal. There can be more solar powered cars in replacement to the gasoline ones we use now to limit the amout of carbon dioxide released in the air. In fact, we can also change the type of gas and oils used to power buildings as well as cars. I think the author wanted us to get us thinking more outside of the box interms of enviormental refuge. The author probably also wanted us think about whether or not the money would be well spent in efforts to saving the enviorment. How sucsseful would it be?
