Texas Man Executed for Race-Related Killings

A 41-year old man named Mark Stroman was killed because he took it upon himself to kill 2 Arabs. He thought that it was a good display of patriotism. Apparently Mark was feeling some type of way about 9/11. The author really emphasizes on the fact that Mark felt it was his duty as an American to get rid of Arabs. He had a past record of violence and criminal activity already. This situation just added onto all of that and the court sentenced him to death. Many people tried to petition it but the court over-ruled. after reading the article, i was disgusted. People like Mark Stroman make me very upset. I don't like the fact that people feel like it's their civil duty to get rid of others and expect to be rewarded for it. What Mr. Stroman did was just self satisfaction. He personally had a problem with Arabs and just wanted to cover it up with "patriotism." Patriotism doesn't take the countries problems into your own hands. It means just supporting and standing by your country and the decisions made. How do people figure that the countries problems is their own personal business? The 2 Arab men killed weren't terrorists. I would like to hear how you feel about this form of "patriotism."

This killing really disgusted me. Mark Stroman felt that it was within his rights to murder two innocent Arabian men for no reason other than racism. This is an extreme form of patriotism, one that makes me sick. Mark Stroman killed these men for his “United States,” but in reality it is not his “United States” and he did not have the right to choose who can and cannot live in this country. It is our United States, and maybe in Stroman’s world what he did was considered patriotic but in reality the United States is a nation made up of people from many different cultures and ethnicities, and no one has the right to turn them away just because they do not like were their origins are.
