In Search for a Robot More Like Us

The first thing that came to my mind when I read this article was the movie I,Robot. I mean how can scientist want to build a robot like "us."
Not only is a lot of money being spent to reach this crazy goal ( my own opinion) but have these scientist ever thought that by making these robots think and look at the world like a real human can cause problems or make people feel insecure. There might be a good outcome of this invention for example they can do your chores and stuff that other robots have not yet have the capacity to do since must robots have to be reprogrammed when a new task is given.
"Designing a robot to mimic the basic capabilities of motion and perception would be revolutionary, researchers say, with applications stretching from care for the elderly to returning overseas manufacturing operations to the United States (albeit with fewer workers)."
The robots will help us take care of the elderly which I think it's great because there has been cases that people that work with the elderly mistreat them. One of the disadvantage is that they would do much work for maybe lesser payment or no payment at all which may lead to unemployment , If this does happen then what would be the point of going to school to learn if a robot could just be taught faster and take your place? One of the thoughts that crossed my mind was what if they do start to act human and by that I mean make mistakes like us or get to the point that they will kill because they felt the urge to do it or something? The thought of a robot being like a human is pretty scary to me but the way the author of this article wrote about this makes the audience think that nothing like that will ever happen. Instead it shows us that by creating these robots it willl help bring back more jobs and make the world better and simpler.
