Treats for the Animals (Including the Humans)

The weather in the U.S. has been getting extremely hot and humid. So now people and animals are taking extreme measures to keep cool. At the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston, MA, the animals are getting there own types of treats to keep them cool. Tigers are getting blood-sicles, pop-sicles that are blood flavored. While gorillas are eating frozen bananas and anteaters get hosed down. This article surprised me, in which I never knew what kind of treatment animals at zoos get in order to keep cool. The treats that they receive is what really surprised me. The tamarin monkeys get heart-shaped ice cubes that have meal worms in them. Jeannine Jackle, a worker at the zoo was even using an electric fan on some of the animals. It's nice to know that animals are trying to keep cool too.
