New York Man Guilty of Fraud in Art Swindle

This article was an attention grabber for me, simply because it was another example of the problems and crimes in America today. A New York man, Thomas Doyle persuaded another man to invest in a painting, in which they both could buy it for $1.1 million. The investor, Gary Fitzgerald, sent Doyle $880,0000, in which Doyle put into his own bank account. And when comforted about the money, Doyle denied such activity and began to blame another man. But finally found guilty, Doyle can look forward to spending over 20 years in jail, considering his prior convictions such as, larceny. When reading this article I began to think about all the crimes and negative perspectives of the world we live in today. In the way that, we as a country are not getting better in the areas of obeying laws and living crime free lives. We continue to steal, kill, and live to one another instead of trying to come together and make something positive. With that we can be better from many years ago and be proud of what we have become. I believe the way the author chose to write the article, including the disloyalty and lies in one, gave me reasons to think the way that i did. It's only a matter of time before something like this happens again.
