The road post 1

this book was extremely interesting for some strange reason despite the constant confusion between the father and son whose names were never revealed to the reader. I have to say the plot was pretty boring up until the middle when the father finally finds a shelter full of food underground. McCarthy seems to make the world seem more realistic and dark than some people think. What if the united states was in a post apocalyptic state? snowing ash and destroying resources, forcing civilians and honest people eat each other just to stay alive at most another week. what would we do? shedding light on the not so dark places through in dept descriptions off simply washing their clothes or carving fake revolver bullets and painting them copper. what goes through  McCarthy's head when he was writing this compelling story full of characters with the same basic motive: stay alive.
