question 4 ( 1st post "on the road" by jack kerouac )

Considering both novels , what I noticed about the treatment of women was that I'm the book "on the road" woman were just whatever, it was ok for men to call them whores, prostitues, etc. Dean played a big roll as being very disrespectful towards women by calling the sluts, whores etc. Basically seemed like women were a nobody and not important , only good for sex.

Now, for the book "the road" by cormac maccarthy, woman didn't play much of a role. The mother commits suicide and that's about it. I also think that the author portrays that women are week , because the mother of the child killed herself because she knew there was no chance of living out there.
