On the Road: Question 1

My impression of sal as a narrator was that he was really likeable. His tone is rather casual which helps to convey the story being told in a peaceful manner. He also has a nonchalant way of speaking which entails that he has a really "I dont care" attitude. He is very reliable because he just seemed like an average guy living day to day engaging in real life dilemas. He encorperates alot of humor in his dialogue and has alot to say. HE IS VERY BLUNT AND HAS NO LIMITATION WHEN IT COMES TO HIS CHIOCE OF WORDS. "Dean had the occupant of the appartment to the kitchen, probably to make coffie, while he proceeded with his love problems, for to him sex was the one and only holy thing in life, althought he had to curse and sweat to make a living and so on"(pg 2) He is incredIbly descriptive, expecially when talking about his encounters with people in the book.

One thing I noticed about Sal was how real he was. He was open was to any discussion. In the opening lines of the story, he immedately talk about his personal life. "I first met Dean not long after my wife and I split up. I had just gotten over a serious illness that I wont bother to talk about, except it had something to do with the misserably weary split up and my feelings that everything was dead"(pg 1). He was not afraid to discuss something as personal as his current status with his wife. Although he spoke very vaguely about his illness, he still mentioned it.
All in all, hes a very intresting character.
