7. If every book is an author's attempt to answer one of life's questions, what question is McCarthy and/or Kerouac attempting to answer? Explain.


The one life question that McCarthy is attempting to answer "How much will you do for the person you love the most" The father in this book has done everything for his son, Im mean What hasnt he done for his son. If the son wasnt there to help him and give him hope he wouldve never survived and he probably would have killed himself. The father wanted to make sure his son was safe, although we all know we dont live forever and we will die someday. I think the father knew he would've been happy just to know that those last days of his life he spent them with his son and although they didnt live a happy life because of the situation they were in, he made sure his son was his first priority. The son also played a role in this because obviously he loved his dad so much and never gave up on him.
