More than a Feminine Side

Who knew birds could cross-dress? This article lured me in mainly because of my own beliefs. I'm often trying to find examples in nature of things that society has deemed "unnatural." If something happens to other animals besides humans, why do we still consider it to be strange?Though bird science may not have any major, direct impact on the world, the end of this article makes an interesting point. We put such rigid limitations on what is feminine and what is masculine, and it's so very apparent in the military. I understand the necessity for a strict military, but we have just gotten ridiculous with it. We force ourselves into closed boxes and cut ourselves off from what could be great opportunities by sticking to our American traditions. If they thought creatively, then maybe we would be able to learn a thing or two from these harriers.
