Short and sweet.

The road was one of the many, yet similar symbols in both novels. It represents cognition of life, ambition to move on from any obstable, and freedom from a materialistic country. These attributions really mean--to live life short and sweet. For example, The Road consisted of two close characters who lived after a life-changing incident. One of them, being quite old, did not live long. Although, he cherished every second of his life with his partner--his son. The trip was long, yet short at the same time. As they say, life is short and you only live once. Somehow, they made an impact into their short lives. For On The Road, they had the time of their lives. They made every small aspect of their trip memorable and interesting--whether it was flirting with girls or drinking their night away. Overall, Sal and Dean's lives (from On The Road) was sweet like their mornings in the West. The message behind these novels are to live life short and sweet; because to be frank, who would like to have a short and miserable life?
