Ooo, women!

The treatment of women varies in both novels, considering they contribute different values. On one hand, The Road does not consistently talk about females. Although, when it does, it brings up the wife and mother of the characters. She committed suicide right before the apocalypse for her safety. The father viewed her suicide as abandonment of her family. He did not approve of her behevior, nevertheless of being reminded of her in her dreams. Due to that circumstance, he was quite upright and angry whenever she was mentioned. On the contrairy, On The Raod treated their women differently. At some points, women are being treated as toys. They, referring to Sal and Dean, use women for sexual pleasure. Dean was mostly involved in these sexual encounters--also for his remedy of espacing his problems. Sal, actually makes an effort towards in the end to settle down with someone he truly cares about. Basically, the treatment of women are diverse, either they are mentioned as a good thing or bad perspective.
