How long will it be?

As 9/11 passes by you can clearly remember where you were when it happened. It was a extreme tragedy but how long will it be until we forget about it and history engulfs the subject. It will probably take many years because when the party boat Slocum burst into flames people could remember the burning bodies and injured people coming off the boat. The doctors and passengers who lived could remember about it. But in today's world we never even heard of the Slocum, they say 90% of New Yorkers don't even know about it. When will it be like that for 9/11? I guess you could only move forward from hear and maybe eventually fade away into history books and will become just another fact that happened in America. In the New York Times the author quotes "Will Sept. 11 be remembered? Of course it will — it's a seminal event in our nation's history," Goodrich said. "But life changes. People move on." Just interesting to see people can recover from even the worst things like the boat incident to other terrible events.

It is also interesting to note that both catastrophic events had major ramifications on policies for transportation. One for fire safety the other for terrorism and medal detector security check points.
