Planes are a death trap. It’s common knowledge to know that when you are in the air without anything holding you up, you are more likely to fall. Somehow planes manage to stay in the air and the mechanics of it I am not really sure, but I do know that in Russia planes seem to be a lot less safe. If you were going on a plane would you be satisfied knowing that you are on an aging jet with a pilot with poor training and lax government oversight?
Russia needs look out for its citizens, there are far too many airplane related causalties. These casualties are ruining the lives of many people. The Tu-154 and Tupolev jets are expiring. “Accidents involving Tupolev jets occur with shocking regularity, despite assurances from Russian officials that they are safe”. With such regularity of these crashes, too many people are getting injured and even dying. Innocent people shouldn’t be dying just because they were on a plane to visit their mother on her deathbed or on a business trip or even on vacation.
Even the Tupolev planes that do survive have trouble getting to the ground safely. They are at risk to everyone in them and underneath them. These planes were made in the 1980s and it is now time to recycle them. New planes such as the Superjet can substitute the faulty Tupolev planes, but yet Russia is still using the Tupolev planes as a mainstay of domestic Russia airlines.
What do you think? Should Russia ban these planes altogether? Should people be noticing the patterns of all the crashes?

I definitely agree with your statement Maggie, why should we let people risk their lives just because they want to travel faster. This comes from the poor technology Russia has, or maybe they don't want to spend all that money in new planes. traveling helps the economy to rise, without a doubt they should invest a good quantity of money or technology to repair or to make new and safer planes. This article has a great meaning to me because I'm becoming a pilot and I don't want to fly any plane that does not work.
I agree with Kimberly. The planes shouldn't be band completely, because truly it may take some time for Russia to get these safer planes. But for now they should look at the problems that these planes are having instead of putting it to the back burner, and putting peoples lives at risk.
Because if people are frequently dying due to these planes why keep letting this happen?
